Hampton Stud

is a small, family run stud, we are breeders of a small and select group of quality pure bred French lop rabbits and pure bred mini lop rabbits in a stunning variety of BRC standard showable colours  - though mainly otter in black, blue, chocolate and lilac!

We are based in Evesham, Worcestershire and have had an interest in rabbit breeding for many years and have been an active British Rabbit Council member since 2002. For more information on French lop breed standards have a look at our BRC page.

We breed for temperament, type and size, in that order - a lovely sociable nature is considered a must at Hamptons. We have a strict one in one out policy at Hamptons which keeps the numbers of breeding stock to a minimum and ensures that we are only retaining the very very best for our lines.  This also ensures that the youngsters produced are being continually improved upon .

The welfare of our rabbits is also of utmost importance. Our french lop rabbits are kept outside in large airy hutches, min six foot as per RSPCA recommendation, made to our design.

We feed our French and Mini lops a mixture of Allen and Page Breeder Grower Pellets,  Allen and Page Natural Pellets, Readigrass and split peas which we buy from Vale Gardens Limited, they are situated in Badsey, Worcestershire and the telephone number is 01386 831000.

They enjoy a calm and peaceful life and are well socialized and well treated, they have their own herb troughs which are planted in the summer and two comfrey patches which leaf up from March, these have proved a great success.

Our breeding stock is of excellent standard and is getting better and better with each passing year, thus allowing us to produce great quality showable babies.

As we breed to produce show quality stock and to better the Hamptons line we do sometimes have youngsters for sale as pets. These youngsters are separated from their mothers at eight or nine weeks old they then have a few weeks on their own before they leave at between ten and twelve weeks old - please be aware that  a reputable french lop breeder will not rush youngsters away - individual rabbits may need longer - French lops should not be sold at six weeks old and any breeder who does this should be avoided like the plague!

To see what people are saying about us have a look at our guest book on this site.

For further information on mini lops have a look at Alexia’s mini lop section on this site.  Alexia has worked hard with her stock over the last few years, taking and acting upon advice given to her and because of this has also produced a superb show line, she too adores the otter pattern and produces otters in black, blue, chocolate and lilac, she also produces the odd self rabbit in the same stunning colours and has recently added an agouti and a red agouti to her stock to keep the tanning nice and bright and add in a new gene pool.

Our rabbit environment, hutches, feed bowls and water bottles are kept very clean. Our breeding stock is healthy and our breeding animals not overworked.

Our breeding animals are carefully pet homed at two to three years old, so that they are still young enough to have some fun in a family home, we strongly believe if they’ve done their bit for us then we should in turn, do our bit for them.

Potential buyers should be aware that we do not specifically breed to sell so sometimes there could be a wait for your rabbit

and most importantly ....

we purposely offer no rabbits for sale over Easter or Christmas.
